Windows 8.1 System Requirements
Windows 8.1 system requirements are virtually the same as Windows 8. Here are the major requirements:
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE2
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver
Downloading Windows 8.1 setup files
If you have already purchased Windows 8.1, you can download Windows 8.1 ISO image from Windows 8/8.1 upgrade page. This method requires you to have a product key prior to downloading the ISO image.
If you have upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 through Windows
Update, you will be able to save the Windows 8.1 setup using the
Go to Windows Update and install the Windows 8.1 update.
All the Windows Update files will be downloaded in the following folder:
These files will be encrypted but once the download completes, they will be decrypted in one of the following folders:
Just copy all the files in the above folders in a safe location.
This folder contains all the Windows 8.1 setup files. You can also
create an ISO image of this folder
